Memorial Day is all about remembering, and you can do that with concerts, parades, and films today. The most conspicuous commemoration will probably be the Memorial Day Parade on Constitution Avenue between 7th and 17th Streets today at 2 o'clock. This year's event pays special tribute to veterans of the Iraq War.

(May 28) Old Blood and Guts

If you're a World War II buff, you may want to head to the AFI Silver in Silver Spring for an afternoon screening of Patton. The 1970 epic features George C. Scott playing the role of the highly admired, accomplished, and controversial General George S. Patton.

The painter showcases over 50 portraits of folks from the frontlines and the factories through Labor Day. While you're out there, you can catch the Women's Memorial ceremony this afternoon at 4.
