Happy Presidents Day! If you're looking for a way to fill your afternoon The Kennedy Center marks George Washington's birthday with a concert. The National Presidents Day Choral Festival features Howard Hanson's Song of Democracy, John Rutter's Gloria, and a few more patriotic favorites.

(Feb. 20-March 10) Words With Friends

A different George is the protagonist of The Language Archive, showing at the Round House Theatre in Silver Spring. This one's a brilliant linguist, consumed with preserving dying languages. At home, George struggles to find the words to preserve his disintegrating marriage; at work, his archival assistant is so in love with him that she's speechless. The comedy asks whether love is a universal language or a well-intentioned dream through March 10th.

Washington's Phillips Collection has a few monumental works until the end of May. Brooklyn-based artist Alyson Shotz showcases three massive sculptures made of yarn and nails in Ecliptic.
