Georgetown University's Nomadic Theatre troupe presents A Night of One-Act Plays over several nights beginning Thursday at the Davis Performing Arts Center. Three shorts explore the idea that all human interactions involve some level of performance -- be they conversations between lovers or small talk amongst strangers at a benefit concert.

For some music that's bound to be a touch brighter, there's Bruce in the U.S.A. Saturday night at State Theatre in Falls Church. The Bruce Springsteen tribute band comprised of superfan Matt Ryan and the American Dream, may be the next best thing to the Boss.
