(Nov. 21-Jan. 1) Equivocation

Arena Stage commits to Equivocation through the end of the year. In early 17th century London one William Shakespeare is commissioned by King James to produce a play about an assassination attempt against the monarch. A cat-and-mouse game of politics and art ensues and no one comes out unscathed.

(Nov. 21) From zero to hero in B'more

For something a little lighter and local Arlington's Signature Theatre opens Hairspray today. Baltimore's Tracy Turnblad dreams of dancing on The Corny Collins Show and after some crafty maneuvering manages to make it there. She uses her big heart, hair and personality to help racially integrate the popular program.

 

(Nov. 21) Sportaculture: The All Stars

For all you sports-loving theater fans out there Silver Spring's Round House Theatre has Sportaculture: The All Stars tonight. The production features locally produced shorts about local sports happenings, including stories on the Nationals, the Redskins and two lovers at a bowling alley in College Park.
