If you've ever wondered what the bee's knees actually look like you have a chance to find out at Cross Mackenzie Gallery in Northwest Washington. Californian photographer Rose-Lynn Fisher exhibits her black and white hyper close-up images of our most important pollinators. Fisher exposes the remarkable patterns and structures of bee bods through November 11th.

Steamy, silly and serious films that tell the stories of LGBT lives are showing throughout the District until Saturday. Reel Affirmations - Washington's International LGBT Film Festival - has full-length features, shorts and panel discussions. Tonight you can catch the documentary Our Lips Are Sealed at West End Cinema. Two gay college students are cheered and jeered as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for 'Longest Kiss'.
