(Oct. 16) Christopher O’Riley
Classical pianist and public radio favorite Christopher O’Riley plays at the National Gallery of Art this weekend. The musician - known best for his arrangements of pop songs by Radiohead, Pink Floyd and Nirvana - interviews and accompanies emerging talent Sunday evening. 

(Oct. 16) Baroque Harvest
For classical music that keeps things traditional there’s Baroque Harvest at Saint Luke’s Church in McLean Sunday afternoon. 17th and 18th century harpsichord music is played on some of the Church’s prized period instruments. 

(Oct. 14-16) A decade of dance
The Suzanne Farrell Ballet celebrates ten years of pirouettes with two mixed programs all weekend at The Kennedy Center. Moves choreographed by Russian great George Balanchine are set to compositions by Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Bach. 

(Oct. 15-Feb. 12) Weaving Abstraction straight out of Central Africa
Washington’s Textile Museum gets intercontinental this weekend with Weaving Abstraction. The show features traditional basketry and ceremonial skirts, cloths and headdresses from the powerful and wealthy Kuba kingdom of Central Africa.

A 3-D printer is being credited with helping to save an Ohio baby's life, after doctors "printed" a tube to support a weak airway that caused him to stop breathing. The innovative procedure has allowed Kaiba Gionfriddo, of Youngstown, Ohio, to stay off a ventilator for more than a year.
