


(Oct. 13-Nov. 6) After The Quake
Washington’s Rorschach Theatre decided to stage Haruki Murakami’s After The Quake more than a year ago. Recent events have certainly informed the actors’ portrayals of folks recovering from a Tokyo earthquake in a world where the real and surreal overlap. The production is showing at Northeast Washington’s Atlas Performing Arts Center through early November.
(Oct. 15) Bach in business
Maryland’s Bach Sinfonia kicks off a season of performance Saturday with Suoni Belli: Instrumental Wonders of the Italian Baroque at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring. The performance includes works by Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Albinoni.
(Oct. 14-18) DC Labor FilmFest
Silver Spring’s AFI Silver has the DC Labor FilmFest Friday through Tuesday. Films about working and workers include the 1976 Watergate classic All the President’s Men and the 2010 documentary Inside Job.
