(Oct. 1) D.C. State Fair with the help of Crafty Bastards
Hurricane Irene forced the cancellation of the DC State Fair, but with the help of the Crafty Bastards arts and crafts fair the fun has been resurrected and rescheduled for Saturday. The two events bring a super local mix of food and handmade arts and crafts to the Marie Reed Community Center at 18th and Wyoming in Adams Morgan.

(Oct. 1) Radiant Child
The National Gallery of Art screens Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child Saturday afternoon. The documentary made by filmmaker and Basquiat friend Tamra Davis features rare footage of the artist at work. The late legend’s studio space, friends, and collaboration with Andy Warhol are all documented. Davis will discuss the film, the artist and his work after the screening.

(Oct. 2) The other Prince
Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy is a one-man American music institution. The Kentucky native has released dozens of albums under a number of monikers spanning every genre from bluegrass and folk to punk and indie rock. He brings a set of intimate songs from his latest stripped-down release to the Birchmere in Alexandria Sunday night.
