If you're feeling like a film this weekend you may want to upgrade to a festival: The Chesapeake Film Festival kicks off today and continues through Monday. Expect a full slate of narrative, documentary and short films, including some classics like Network and A Woman Under The Influence at venues in and around Easton, Cambridge and Chestertown.

George Mason University holds its annual ARTS by George! benefit Saturday. You can appreciate and support student work before conductor Marvin Hamlisch and pianist Michael Feinstein take to the stage for a tribute to the Great American Songbook.

James Gandolfini Dies; 'Sopranos' Actor Was 51

Actor James Gandolfini, 51, has reportedly died. Variety magazine reports that he suffered a "sudden stroke." The cause of death is not yet known with certainty, but HBO says the actor may have suffered a heart attack.
