A woman on a moped was hit by a truck in Chevy Chase this morning. She later died from her injuries.

A woman struck by a truck in Chevy Chase as she rode her moped has died from her injuries.

The incident took place at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Fessenden Street NW, across from the Engine 31 firehouse, at 8:30 a.m. The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

A spokeswoman with the Metropolitan Police Department said the incident was under investigation, and no further details were yet available.
