The University of Virginia is being awarded three National Endowment for the Arts grants to support creative arts programs on campus, including moves toward mobile technology.

The grants have been given specifically to the Virginia Quarterly Review, The Fralin Museum of Art and a collaborative multimedia project between poet Rita Dove and the school's McIntire Department of Music.

The University says the Virginia Quarterly Review received $10,000 to support artist and graphic design fees for the journal and to forward the publication of e-books.

The review's publisher Jon Peede, says the first series of e-books will be launched next summer on topics ranging from literature to environmental reporting.

The new multimedia performance work called "The Ceiling Floats Away'' received $30,000. The project will feature music, poetry and projections and a free mobile app.
