Analysis: Congress Misses Deadline For Budget Deal

The bipartisan group working on a budget deal in Congress has already missed a deadline. While the group technically has until Dec. 13 to come up with a federal budget plan for 2014, some lawmakers, including Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), hoped they would at least agree on overall spending levels by this week.

As Alex Bolton, senior staff writer for The Hill explains in a Q&A with WAMU's Pat Brogan, there's concern on Capitol Hill about whether Congress can meet the deadlines approaching both this month and next.
