Lottery For National Christmas Tree Lighting Opens Today

The National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is always a big draw in D.C.

The National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is always a big draw in D.C.

The online lottery to attend the National Christmas Tree lighting opens today. Those hoping to attend the ceremony have until 10 a.m. on Monday to enter online or by phone.

There are 3,000 seats of 14,000 standing-room spots available through the lottery. Tickets are free.

Winners will be notified by email on Nov. 7 and will also be able to check the status of their request online.

The lighting ceremony will be held on Dec. 6 this year.
