Johnny Pimentel pleaded guilty earlier this year to four attacks on women, though police suspected him of slashing nine different women on their backsides in a series of 2011 attacks. None of the women was seriously injured.

Pimentel apologized yesterday at a sentencing in Fairfax County Circuit Court. Prosecutors say he never gave an explanation for why he carried out the bizarre attacks.

After the attacks, he fled to his native Peru, where he was arrested in January 2012 and then extradited.

The seven-year sentence was the most he could receive under the terms of his plea deal.
