A judge will decide whether to accept a plea deal from a Maryland lawmaker who has pleaded guilty to a drunken boating charge.

The judge will decide in October whether to accept a plea deal from State Delegate Don Dwyer who pleaded guilty yesterday in Anne Arundel County to a drunken boating charge relating to a collision that injured seven people last year.

Dwyer is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 25, and under the plea deal reached with prosecutors, he wouldn't serve any jail time.

Dwyer had reached a similar plea deal in district court in May. A judge in that case sentenced him to 30 days in jail, saying a lawmaker should be held to a higher standard. Dwyer appealed that sentence.
