D.C. Mayoral Race Gets Fourth Candidate In Reta Jo Lewis

The field for D.C. Mayor now includes its first candidate outside the D.C. Council.

An outsider to D.C. politics is throwing her hat in the ring for mayor. Reta Jo Lewis is launching a bid to become the city's next mayor.

Lewis becomes the fourth candidate to officially announce a run.

Lewis recently worked in the State Department, and has experience at several well-known D.C. law firms. She also worked for several years in the White House during the Clinton Administration.

According to a bio on her campaign's website, Lewis has some local experice, serving as chief of staff at the Department of Public Works in the early 1990s.

Lewis joins three D.C. Councilmembers in the race for mayor: Tommy Wells, Muriel Bowser, and Jack Evans.

Current Mayor Vincent Gray hasn't announced whether he will seek reelection.
