Loudoun Supervisor Won't Face Charges For Misuse Of Office Funds

Loudoun County Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio will not face criminal charges after a special grand jury probe into allegations that he misused his county office to raise political funds.

The grand jury did not return an indictment Monday, but it issued a report on potential problems with the Sterling, Va. Republican's office. Delgaudio has said he did nothing wrong.

Arlington County Commonwealth's Attorney Theo Stamos, who oversaw the investigation, says she didn't ask the jury to consider indictments.

The grand jury's report outlines potential misuse of county resources and possibly unreported campaign funds. It also details a lack of focus on constituent services and an "indistinct association'' between Delgaudio's county office and his nonprofit Public Advocate of the United States, which campaigns against gay rights.
