National Theatre announced its news season for 2013 and 2014 yesterday, which includes its first subscription season in more than a decade, as well as the new musical "If/Then" from the creators of "Next to Normal." In a statement, Producer David Stone says National Theatre has proven to be a good place to develop new works.
The four-show subscription series also includes Broadway tours of "West Side Story," "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess" and "American Idiot" from music group Green Day. Subscriptions start at $195 and go on sale today.
Additional shows include "Stomp," "Blue Man Group," "Hal Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight!" and "Mama Mia!"
This is the first season the struggling theater is operating under a new joint venture between Chicago's JAM Theatricals and Philadelphia-based SMG.
