A D.C. Superior Court jury convicted Tommy Branch of beating Thomas Maslin on Capitol Hill in August 2012, reports the Associated Press. Maslin was left with severe brain injuries after the attack.
Maslin was struck with a BB gun and robbed of his credit card and cell phone. Two other men, 18-year-old Sunny Kuti of southeast Washington and 19-year-old Michael Moore of Landover, Md., were also accused in connection with the attack.
Moore pleaded guilty and testified during the trial. He said the robbery was Branch's idea.
Branch faces a maximum of about 30 years in prison at sentencing July 2.
