Another passenger bus company has been shut down by federal safety regulators.

The Washington D.C Party Shuttle, also known as Onboard D.C. Tours, has been ordered to immediately cease all operations by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The feds say the company's drivers and vehicles pose an imminent hazard to public safety.

The Party Shuttle picks up its passengers just a few blocks from the White House, and on its website says it's the highest rated tour of Washington 4 years and running.

A woman who answered the phone at the company's offices said: "We have no comment."

Federal safety regulators say this is the first shutdown of a passenger carrier following the deployment of more than 50 specially trained safety investigators targeting high-risk passenger carriers.

The investigation found the failed to monitor and ensure that its drivers comply with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements, and it also found that the carrier does not have an effective maintenance program, resulting in significant safety problems with its tour bus fleet.
