Baltimore Wins Super Bowl XLVII, Defeats San Francisco 34-31

The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31, in Sunday night's Super Bowl XLVII at the Super Dome in New Orleans.

A power outage put the game between Baltimore Coach John Harbaugh and his younger brother, San Francisco Coach Jim Harbaugh, on hold for more than a half-hour.

When the power returned, Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers scored 17 points in less than 5 minutes, reports the Associated Press. But Baltimore stopped San Francisco on fourth-and-goal from the 5 with under 2 minutes left when Kaepernick's pass sailed beyond wide receiver Michael Crabtree in the end zone.

It is the second Super Bowl championship for the Ravens and linebacker Ray Lewis, who is retiring after 17 seasons.
