Debate about government spending played a key role in the 2012 election cycle across the country. But questions about the role of the federal government have special significance in the D.C. region, which has deep ties to Uncle Sam.  From July 26 through August 1, well before the term "fiscal cliff" had made its way into the popular lexicon, WAMU 88.5 aired a 4-part series about what the possibility of federal spending cuts meant for the D.C. area.
