Debate about federal spending played a key role in the 2012 election cycle across the country.  But questions about the role of the federal government had special significance in the D.C. region, which has deep ties to Uncle Sam.  On July 27, well before the term "fiscal cliff" had made its way into the popular lexicon, WAMU's Rebecca Blatt reported on the potential economic impacts of federal cuts in the D.C. region and how local officials were preparing.
