Construction of a test line for the 7000-series of Metro cars will wrangle the Green Line.

Metro says weekend work will cause delays along stretches of the Blue, Red and Green Lines.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday night, buses will replace Blue Line trains in Virginia between the Pentagon and Rosslyn stations with an intermediate stop at Arlington Cemetery. Metro says anyone taking the shuttle should add 20 minutes to their expected travel time.

On the Red Lines, trains will be sharing a single track along two stretches between Friendship Heights and Van Ness and again between Rhode Island Avenue and Fort Totten. Anyone traveling through those work zones can expect it to take up to 15 minutes longer than usual.

And on the Green Line, trains will be single tracking between Greenbelt and College Park as part of an effort to construct a new track to test the new 7000-series railcars. Metro says for anyone traveling to or from Greenbelt that could add 10 minutes to the trip.
