The Virginia congressional delegation is working hard to move the FBI from the District to the commonwealth.

The government is looking for a new home for the FBI and it wants a large tract of land. Federal officials are signaling they need around 55 acres to house the bureau's new 2 million square foot office building.

Virginia lawmakers argue it should be housed in the commonwealth.  The commonwealth's two U.S. senators and four House members with Northern Virginia districts, along with other stakeholders met today at the Arlington Economic Development Office.

Democratic Congressman Jim Moran said the bipartisan meeting was a chance to work together to put Virginia's best foot forward.

"We just want to make sure that we're not working against each other in any way that would undermine our best chances of landing it in the commonwealth," Moran said.

Officials from Maryland and the District are also looking to court federal officials in the hopes of snagging the money involved with such a massive project.
