Metro has extended its H6 line to accomodate visitors to the new D.C. Costco.
The new Costco in Northeast D.C. is doing brisk business, but some customers say it's a tough place to get to unless you have a car. Metro officials say they may have a solution.
Metro heard from its customers who said they needed better service getting to the Costco at New York Avenue and South Dakota Avenue Northeast, so the transit agency decided to extend the H6 bus line to the giant warehouse starting March 23.
"We've been doing studies of bus routes throughout the region and we do that as we go around the region looking where we can improve bus service," says Richard Sarles, Metro's general manager. "So it came out of those studies, it came out of listening to our customers."
The new H6 route is among several dozen proposed route changes system wide approved by the Metro board," says Sarles. "It will serve the Shops at Dakota Crossing as well as a new residential development on Commodore Joshua Barney Drive."
