Snow, sleet and rain: the D.C. region saw it all today. And while many adults find winter weather annoying, kids who woke up to a coating of snow on the ground Wednesday morning were thrilled.
In Alexandria, Va., 7-year-old Estella made the best of the wet snow by making a little snowman.
Joey, 11, spent time outdoors dressed for the cold temperatures. "I usually like throwing it at my brother and eating it," she said about the snow.
And 8-year-old Josh explained why he likes the snow: "I have a big hill in my backyard and I can go sledding. It's really fun."
The wintry mix is expected to taper off by Wednesday evening in much of the D.C. metro region. Several inches of snow are expected across Shenandoah Valley and into the panhandle of West Virginia. Frederick County, Md., could see up to three inches of snow.
