Outgoing D.C. Council member Michael Brown says he's "moving toward'' a run in an April special election for the vacant at-large seat on the D.C. Council.
In an appearance earlier today on NewsChannel 8's Newstalk program, Brown repeatedly deflected questions about whether he's running.
Brown says he's spoken to voters around the District, who want him to continue to fight for jobs, affordable housing and the social safety net.
Brown also said he will change his party affiliation back to Democratic. He had changed his affiliation to Independent while running for the seat held by non-majority parties.
Independent David Grosso defeated Brown, the incumbent, in a November election. Gross raised questions about Brown's ability to manage personal and professional finances after his former campaign treasurer embezzled more than $110,000 from his campaign.
