Two stations on Metro's Red Line will be closed this weekend for scheduled track work.
Starting at 10 p.m. Friday night, buses will be replacing Red Line trains between Fort Totten and Forest Glen. The Silver Spring and Takoma stations will be closed while crews work on station platforms, install fiber-optic cables, and perform other track maintenance. Metro says anyone taking the bus through that work zone should add 30 minutes to their expected travel time.
Elsewhere around the system, Orange Line trains will be sharing a single track this weekend between Stadium-Armory and Cheverly and between East Falls Church and West Falls Church with delays in those areas of up to 15 minutes.
And on the Green Line, trains will be single tracking between Greenbelt and College Park. It could take up to 10 minutes longer than usual to get to or from the Greenbelt station.
Service should be back to normal Monday morning.
