The holiday weekend will soon be coming to a close for some people, and the American Automobile Association says that means another bump of travel congestion is ahead.

Triple AAA Mid-Atlantic's John Townsend says Sunday and Monday will be high travel days, with a lot of people on the road in the Washington region. He says 36 percent will be returning today, and another 25 percent will be returning tomorrow.

"Thanksgiving is a longer travel period that we anticipate," says Townsend.

He says the best way to avoid holiday congestion is to set a game plan. For instance, getting off the roads for a meal, if it'll help ease congestion, or on Monday, waiting until after morning rush hour is over to begin driving.
