As Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell enters the final year of his term, his popularity remains high, according to a poll released by the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
It seems just about everyone likes the governor, says Tim Malloy, with Quinnipiac University. "Gov. Bob McDonnell is maintaining a high approval rating. He's among the highest of the seven states we surveyed. He has a 53 to 26 job approval rating among Virginia voters, and he's the only Republican officer in the states we surveyed who gets positive ratings from women. It's 2 to 1 in his case."
The only group that disapproves of McDonnell is the Democrats by 43 to 34 percent.
The poll surveys about 1,400 registered voters, and has a 2.6 percent plus or minus margin of error.
