Play associated audio

Laurence Stewart II, wanted on charges of detonating bombs at homes in Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg, is now in custody.

Police say earlier this week, Stewart tossed pipe bombs into his ex-girlfriend's home, and into the homes of two officers who were investigating an indecent exposure charge against him. No one was hurt.

The Stafford County Sheriff's office says Stewart was taken into custody yesterday after a wild police chase in Cascade County, Montana near Great Falls.

Police say "a number" of pipe bombs were thrown at officers attempting to make a traffic stop. Stewart reportedly took off armed on foot after officers disabled his car. He was eventually captured and arrested.

He faces charges including attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer, manufacture or possession of a weapon of terror and arson.
