Montgomery County Police say shots were fired at a gate to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center during an altercation between a woman and Navy Medical campus police.
The incident occurred around noon at Walter Reed's north gate. Montgomery County Police reported on Twitter that they responded to reports of shots fired and a possible vehicle collision involving an employee of the medical center.
Looking for a black Mitsubishi matching the one described in the incident, police tracked down the suspect to a Harris Teeter grocery store near Old Georgetown Rd. in North Bethesda, where they took her into police custody.
Police are now shutting down northbound Wisconsin Ave. at Jones Bridge Road for the investigation.
