Approximately 400 students at Hart Middle School in Southeast D.C. will use the math program "Teach to One," that D.C. Public Schools officials say has been very effective in New York.
The pilot program is technology-based and allows for personalized lesson plans where students can learn at their own pace, based on their ability.
Students will have their own laptops, and every day, receive an individualized study plan based on what they are ready to learn. DCPS leaders say this will help teachers more effectively help all students learn, even when they have different abilities.
The program cost approximately $1 million.
