Both Vice Presidential candidates are hoping to make the case for their ticket in Kentucky on Thursday night.

Incumbent Vice President Joe Biden and challenger Congressman Paul Ryan square off tonight in the first and only Vice Presidential debate of the campaign season.

ABC's Martha Raddatz is moderating tonight's 90-minute debate on foreign and domestic issues at Centre College in Danville, Ky. The debate is broken up into nine 10-minute segments. Each segment opens with a question from the moderator that each candidate has two minutes to answer. The remaining time in the segment is used for discussion.

Tonight's debate chat features Frank James (NPR's It's All Politics blogger); Marilyn Geewax (NPR business editor); Shirish Date (NPR Washington Desk editor).
