Montgomery County Holds Town Hall For Students

Play associated audio

The third annual town hall meeting for Montgomery County youth in front of the council takes place Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the council chambers in Rockville.

Council members say the meeting will allow high school, middle school, and elementary school students the opportunity to talk about issues important to them in an organized setting. Hundreds packed last year's hearing to decry a plan to impose a curfew on teens throughout the county — a proposal that eventually died before the council.

The only requirement for those wishing to address the council is that they be a student in Montgomery County, whether at a public or private school. If a student can not attend the meeting but still wants to ask a question, they can do so on Twitter by using the hashtag #mocoyouth.
