Virginia GOP Cuts Ties With Voter Registration Vendor

Virginia's Republican Party has cut ties with a company it hired to register voters after questions were raised in Florida over voter registration.

In August, the state GOP paid $500,000 to a Virginia-based third-party voter registering company, Strategic Allied Consulting, to provide new voter and absentee ballot registration services.

Now, according to the Florida Department of State, more than 100 suspect forms submitted by the consultanting firm in several Florida counties have been turned over to local prosecutors.

Strategic Allied Consulting blames the problems on a single rogue employee and called recent statements by GOP officials "libelous.''

The Republican National Committee and state GOP parties in North Carolina and Colorado also have fired the company.
