Republican delegates who attended the convention in Tampa, Fla., will return home to pitch the GOP ticket in their home districts. The youngest delegate on the convention floor, a 17-year-old named Evan Draim, is from Alexandria, in Northern Virginia's 8th Congressional District.

"I think the momentum is on Mitt Romney's side in Virginia," says Draim. "It's been said that so goes Virginia, so goes the nation, so the fact that Mitt Romney is representing Virginia values and seems to be on the upswing in Northern Virginia and all across the state speaks well for his campaign nationally."

The Republican Party is relying on delegates like Draim to knock on doors and make the pitch for Mitt Romney in their home districts in the weeks ahead.

It's a skill that Draim has already mastered. He beat out a full slate of seasoned Republican activists to earn his seat on the convention floor, and he says he plans to work hard to bring other young voters onto the GOP platform.

"I think younger voters should be fighting what I see as a war on students — the fact that our money is being spent away before it is earned," says Draim. "I think that Mitt Romney, because he is so fundamentally different from Barack Obama, has a very good contrast he can employ to win over American students."
