A 19-year-old woman from Woodbridge is under arrest charged with driving under the influence following a hit-and-run fatal accident near Lorton.

Virginia police say Carol Rood Johnson struck and killed Clarence Alston, 62, early Saturday on Interstate 95. Alston had pulled onto the shoulder shortly after midnight and was standing next to his vehicle with his hazard lights on when he was struck.

Authorities say Johnson left the scene and later contacted police in Prince George's County, where her vehicle was later found.
