After weeks of negotiations, the U.S. Senate passed a five-year Farm Bill yesterday that covers a range of policies from food stamps to crop subsidies. David Hawkings, editor of the CQ Roll Call Daily Briefing, talks with WAMU Morning Edition's host Matt McCleskey on an amendment involving deep spending cuts set to go into effect Jan. 1 may be especially closely watched in our area as the House takes up the bill.
