An employee at Capital Ice in the District says there's about 15,000 pounds of ice in their warehouse.
Folks in the D.C. area are bracing for another hot day, as temperatures are expected to reach near 105 degrees with the heat index.
During this heat wave, there's a lot of talk about jobs like roofing and paving--jobs that can be grueling during high temperatures. One job that may easily be the envy to people stuck working outdoors is that of ice seller.
Near a wholesale food market in northeast D.C. is a warehouse with a big steal door, about 5 inches thick. Upon opening the door, one is embraced with a cool oasis--a freezer with huge fans. This retreat from the heat is the home of Capital Ice, a company providing people and businesses in the District with ice.
The warehouse stores about 15,000 pounds of ice. And on this very hot day, the company is expecting business to be booming.
