A 400-pound bouncer at a popular bar in College Park has been charged with beating up a customer.

Prince George's County police say 28-year-old Marcus Plummer, a bouncer at R.J. Bentley's on Route 1, choked, punched and threw a patron to the ground over the weekend.

Police say the fight started when the customer — a Wyoming man who is a member of the Air Force — tried to get back into the bar after being thrown out for tossing his drink on a customer.

Plummer has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment. He was released on $50,000 bond.
