Michael Davis, 19, is charged with two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

A fifth person reports being attacked in the District's Petworth neighborhood. Meanwhile, one suspect has been charged with two of five similar assaults that have happened there over a three-day period.

Michael Davis, 19, of Northwest D.C. is charged with two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

In one of the assaults, Davis is accused of striking a woman in the head with a hammer. Shortly after that, assault police chased a suspect, recovering a backpack he dropped containing a hammer. The Metropolitan Police Department continues to investigate that assault and the four similar attacks in Petworth last week, including the one that killed 66-year old Denver native Gary Dederichs.

The latest and 5th victim reports being struck with an object Thursday afternoon near the intersection of 2nd and Ingraham streets NW, investigators say.

Michael Davis is the younger brother of NFL players Vernon and Vontae Davis. He appeared Saturday in D.C. Superior Court, where Davis was ordered held without bond pending a preliminary hearing May 11.
