If you were a member of Washington's Unexpected Stage Company, where would you want to host your monologue competition? If you answered "An Irish pub in Bethesda!" you're right on the money. Ten actors hope for the best during tonight's Monologue Fest - an evening of comedy, drama, and Guinness at Bethesda's Rí Rá Irish Pub.

Every month Glen Echo Park's Yellow Barn Studio opens its doors to a new set of resident artists who share their work, discuss techniques, and teach classes. Five local painters are showing a mix of abstract and expressionist pieces through Saturday and they just might let you in on a few of their secrets if you ask nicely.

Artists from around the District and the globe put their work up for auction Thursday night in Art for Humanity. The Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. benefit at Northwest's Woolly Mammoth Theatre promises primo contemporary works, music from graduates of D.C.'s Duke Ellington School of the Arts and a few words of wisdom from the school's founder, Peggy Cooper Cafritz.
