Ten Sites Added To Virginia's Landmarks Registry

One of the newly designated landmarks in the Washington area is the Dominion Hills historic neighborhood in Arlington County. Another is a home in Fauquier County called "Old Denton."

Also on the landmarks list is the NASA-Langley Research Center in Hampton. And while the center is associated with cutting edge space technology, the facility actually dates back to World War I. It was established in 1917 as the Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, the nation's first civilian aeronautics lab.

Among other entries around the Commonwealth, includes the U.S.S. Wisconsin battleship, a museum vessel at Nauticus in Norfolk.
