Bowie State University is holding a memorial Wednesday night to honor a student stabbed to death in her campus apartment. Bowie State officials say the service will allow the university community to honor Dominique Frazier's life and to celebrate her impact on campus life.
Prosecutors say Frazier was stabbed to death last week by her roommate, Alexis Simpson, after the women argued about music playing from an iPod. They say Simpson made a choice to end Frazier's life, but Simpson's attorney has said she was defending herself and calls the stabbing a tragic accident.
Frazier was 18 years old when she was killed and she would have turned 19 last Sunday. The memorial is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Bowie State's Center For Learning and Technology.
