MoCo Residents Remember 9/11 Victims

Montgomery County leaders will be laying wreaths and roses on the memorials to 11 residents who died on 9/11.
Local leaders are paying tribute to members of the Montgomery County community who died on 9/11.

As the firefighters' band played bag pipes, Montgomery County fire chief Richard Bowers urged residents to remember the neighbors they lost 10 years ago.

"While this was a national tragedy," he says. "We today will honor our own family who died that day from Montgomery County."

Julia Caswell-Daitch, whose brother Billy was on the plane that crashed into the Pentagon, says she carries the tragedy with her every day.

"We are forever changed," she says. "The nation. The families. And I am forever changed."

Now she tells people to cherish their lives - and each other.

"Death can happen that fast. So do good things with the time you have. Be radiant with the gifts you have," Caswell-Daitch says. 

She says that's what her brother would have wanted.
