Fairfax County Police have named a suspect in the serial butt-slashing cases that have continued during the past few months, but he is not in custody, according to a statement.

Officials received a tip connecting the suspect, Johnny D. Guillen Pimentel, 40, to one of the assaults in a retail store this summer. There were a total of nine similar assaults that occurred in shopping locations since February; in all the cases, victims reported feeling a sharp pain in their buttocks and then realizing they had been cut with a sharp object.

Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Pimentel, but he has not been apprehended and the authorities believe he may have left the area. He may be driving a blue, 2003 Honda Civic bearing the Virginia tag KLX2689.
