Arlington Man Sentenced For Stealing $218,000 From FTC

58-year-old Harold Hughes of Arlington, Va., entered a guilty plea in April for "theft of government money." The U.S. Attorney's office says Hughes will pay full restitution to the government as part of his plea agreement, according to an Associated Press report.

Prosecutors say that between February 2009 and December 2010, Hughes worked for the agency and was responsible for ordering office supplies for agency employees.

Authorities value Hughes' unauthorized purchases, which mainly included electronics such as laptop computers, DVD players and televisions, at $218,000. They say he sold most of the items for cash.
