This first part of the two-phase project will shut down Canal Road, from MacArthur Boulevard to 35th Street in northwest Washington.

Crews will be sealing joints on the water main from Mondays through Fridays, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The construction work is expected to continue through September 1.

Suggested alternates include the George Washington Parkway and Reservoir Road. The project’s second phase will be on M Street, between 26th Street and New Hampshire Avenue, NW.
